Best Use and Compatibility
This 2.25mm Fine Fine chair cane is best for chairs that need a smaller strand size and closer hole spacing. It works well for hand-caning repairs where the original seat used fine-fine cane rather than fine, narrow-medium, or common chair cane.

If your chair has slightly wider spacing or needs a larger cane size, chair cane fine 2.5mm 1000 ft coil may be a better match.

How to Choose the Right Cane Size
Before buying, measure both the drilled hole diameter and the spacing from the center of one hole to the center of the next hole. This product is listed for 3/16” drilled holes with about 1/2” center-to-center spacing.
If the cane is too small, the seat may not look full or firm after weaving. If the cane is too large, it may be difficult to pull through the holes and can put extra stress on the chair frame.
The included binder cane is used around the outside edge after the seat is woven. If you need extra finishing material for repairs or multiple projects, 4mm binder cane can be used for the border.
Installation Notes
Soak the strand cane before weaving so it becomes flexible enough to bend through the chair holes without cracking. Do not over-soak it, because overly soft cane can stretch too much and become harder to control during weaving.
Remove old cane from each drilled hole before starting the new seat. Clean holes help the new cane pull through more smoothly and help the finished seat sit correctly.

Care After Weaving
Let the finished seat dry fully before regular use. Natural cane tightens as it dries, so avoid sitting on the chair too soon after installation.
Keep the chair indoors or in a covered dry area. Long exposure to moisture, direct sunlight, or high heat can dry out or weaken natural cane over time.
